Cute Short Hair Cut Styles

Many modern women prefer wearing their hair cut short, especially those who don't have a good deal of time to spend styling and caring for longer hair. These examples of short hair cuts are attractive, flattering, and require minimal daily upkeep:

Short Bob Hairstyles
1.Bob Styles

Bobs are cute short hair cut styles that have been worn by women for generations. The bob hair cut is typically chin-length to shoulder-length and is a great choice for those who desire a short haircut with plenty of volume. Originally, bobs were shaped into a blunt, all-one-length style, though many variations and modifications of this style have developed through the years. Bob styles can be worn with or without bangs, cut straight across or in layers, and angled to create an asymmetrical look. This short hair cut is versatile and can easily be styled with just a bit of hair product.

Short Pixie Hairtyles
2.Pixie Styles

Pixie hair cuts are cropped styles that lie close to the scalp. This type of short cut works best for women with oval or heart-shaped faces and small, defined cheekbones. Pixie hair styles are typically very short at the ears and neck, with layers of varying length at the crown. Women who wish to accentuate their facial features with a short cut that requires minimal day-to-day styling are good candidates for a pixie style, which is both cute and eye-catching. Pixie cuts do need to be re-shaped periodically at a salon, depending on how fast an individual woman's hair grows.

Short Spiked Hairstyles
3.Spiked Styles

Cute short hair cut styles with spikes are ideal for bold and adventurous women who enjoy standing out in a crowd. Ranging from very short to several inches in length, spiked hair styles can be shaped into a dramatic "punk" look or worn in a more subtle manner. Short hair cuts with spikes can work for women with thick or thin hair and should be styled with gel products that are designed to keep hair firmly in place.

Short Shag Hairstyles
4.Shag Styles

Shag hair cuts, which are styled in face-framing layers, can be modified to flatter women of all hair types and bone structures. The shag is perfect for women on the go, as this style is designed to look fashionably tousled and disheveled. Women who wear their hair in a short shag cut have a variety of everyday styles to choose from - shags can be slicked back, blown dry for extra volume, or shaped to fall softly over the cheekbones. This hassle-free cut can easily be maintained with hair products such as gel, pomade, or styling spray.

No matter how your faced is shaped or how your hair is textured, it's not difficult to find cute short hair cut styles that suit your features and personality. Be certain to have your hair cut by a professional stylist for best results.

How to Cut Short Hair For Women

How to Cut Short Hair For Women - Cutting Hair Made Easy

Chances are your read this because your wanting to learn how cut short hair, well cool, you're in for some good news. I am going to share some basic and easy to understand tips on learning the art of cutting hair.

First step is to find a couple of good photos of the style or cut your want to have. This just makes it much easier for you. To do this just do an internet search in yahoo or Google for "short hair styles." Be sure you know the length you want. Find a few pictures of the style you want, this will help in determining that right cut for you.

Second step to do is to get the hair wet. Just shampoo and conditioner the hair. Having the hair clean and wet will make it so much easier to control and cut.

Third step is to section the hair into four sections (ear to ear and front center to center back of your nape) By taking the hair and putting it into four sections with help you easily move through the haircut. Once again section by starting at the top of the head, right behind the ears. Taking your comb and coming straight down slightly behind each ear and then parting the hair directly down the back of the head as if you were parting the hair for pig-tails.

Fourth step is your now ready to start cutting. Always cut in small sections. In the first step you should have already decided on the length you want. Begin by taking out a 1 inch section in the back (nape) area and cutting the underlying hair first. Then work either left to right or the opposite, doesn't matter. Always remember to keep using the last section that was cut as your guide for the next section to cut. Continue cutting the hair in these small sections. When your done cutting a section go ahead and move on to the next section until you have completed the entire head. Always keep checking both sides of the head to make sure the hair is even.

To make the haircut go smoothly, be sure to have a spray bottle with water and mirror or two. Be sure to only use a nice pair of scissors that made specifically for cutting hair. Paper scissors will only ruin your hair. Don't cut hair with them!

Now with a little practice you will be creating professional haircuts in no time.

Haircuts For 30s and 40s Woman

New Hair Styles For Women - Haircuts For 30s and 40s Woman

A fringe is the ideal choice for a simple style update and if you want a new image without losing length then ask your hair stylist about the best style to suit your cut. Look out for artificial fringe pieces that clip into your hair for a no commitment style change. Your hair dresser may even be able to trim a hairpiece to suit your exact requirements. It's a good idea to have your fringe trimmed a little shorter than you normally wear it when you have a cut. Within a week or two it should be just perfect.

Arm yourself with plenty of clips, grips, bands and accessories so that the only limit to your style is your imagination. If you're choosing a style for a special occasion pop into your hairdresser before the big day for a consultation or a trial run. Take some pictures along with you for ideas and inspiration. Keep a handbag sized hairspray with you at home, at work or out on the town so that you can make sure your updo creation stays perfectly in place.

Even while growing your hair it's important to try and enjoy your style. The transition phase between long and short is a great time to experiment with new styling techniques and interesting new hair ideas. Get to know a whole range of products for maximum styling versatility. Anything from gels to waxes, serums to sprays will give you plenty of options when it comes to changing your look. Pay particular attention to the ends of mid length hair. This is often where the focus of your style will be.

Make sure that you discuss all factors including your lifestyle and time you spend on your hair before opting for a new cut. Your hairdresser should take all these things into consideration. If you've had the same style for anything over five years its probably time for a change. Even a small addition, such as a fringe or layers will update your cut. Take inspiration from magazines, celebrities and even people on the street when choosing your new look. If you like someone's hair - tell them - as this is a great way to finding a good hairdresser in your area.

Women in their thirties and forties are looking for ways to alter their hair style without loosing length. In this case, layers, are a great option. You can add volume, texture and height without having to compromise your length. All good hairdressers will take the time to discuss the kind of cut your after. It's always useful to take along pictures as a simple way of getting across what you actually do and don't want. Despite certain myths and rumours, the only way to really get rid of split ends is to have them cut off.

How to Cut Short Hair

If you want a new hairstyle, but you don't want to spend time at a salon, you can always cut your own hair. By choosing a simple style, you can cut long hair into a shorter, trendier style while saving time and money. Short hairstyles are perfect for warm summer months or when you don't have the time to spend hours styling and touching up during the day.

Step 1Find a picture of the hairstyle you want to create. Simple hairstyles are best when cutting your own hair short. Finding a picture of a hairstyle that is suitable for your hair's texture allows you to cut the hair without having to worry too much about altering your hair's natural structure.

cut short hair

Step 2Wet your hair. Cutting wet hair is easier than cutting dry hair. Keep in mind that as your hair dries, it will shrink a little, so be sure to find a length that's comfortable to wear when dry. Cutting off too much wet hair may result in a style that's too short. Fill a plastic spray bottle with water so you can keep your hair wet as you cut.

Step 3Use a pair of sharp scissors that are made for cutting hair. Begin by cutting small sections of your hair. Once you decide on a certain length, follow the natural pattern of your hair to ensure that the cut will be even. Refer to the mirror to monitor your progress. Keep in mind that while you can always cut your hair shorter, you cannot add length, so cutting a little bit of hair at a time will help you achieve the proper length.

Step 4Trim underlying hair first. Pin longer layers on the top of your head so you can easily find the underlying layers. These are the layers that are the closest to your neck. After cutting these layers, remove the pins and begin cutting the layers that grow from the crown of your head.

Step 5Trim your bangs last. This will help you determine the length and style. Use a towel to dry your hair before styling. Make any last-minute improvements by checking to make sure the sides of your hair are even. Trim any pieces that are longer in the front or the back. Use styling products to hold your new haircut in place.

The Fashion of Short Hair for Women

Gentlemen prefer blondes; apparently they also prefer long hair, according to Tamás Bereczkei, PhD, professor of psychology at the University of Pécs in Hungary. She performed a study in which images of female faces with varying hair lengths were presented to men. The men then evaluated the individual hairstyles for appeal and attractiveness. “Longer hair had a significant positive effect on the ratings of a woman’s attractiveness; shorter styles did not,” as stated by Dr. Bereczkei in her findings.

So, is this really true? Well I guess you would have to ask the man in your life. It seems that short hair is very popular among women and in the fashion industry. Soft face curving short haircuts, as well as the jagged drastic super short boy cuts. It somehow symbolizes something super modern, trendy and cool.

The simple definition of short hair is that which falls above the shoulder. There are of course lots of varying degrees of short hair, including very short above the ear and that which is just to the shoulder.

Short hair can be tricky. Not every face can pull it off, and the shorter the style the less likely that it will tailor to any woman’s facial features and shape. The shorter the style, the less likely the cut will tailor to every woman's face. The perfect short hairstyle will always accentuate the best facial features as well as the shape of the face.

In general faces that are wider, more round or fuller or have prominent features will not look as good with short hair because it will just make them pop even more. Longer faces do better with cuts that have blunt ends since they widen the shape of the face. In contrast to round facial shapes, the longer ones will want to be made to appear wider. Also, for very long faces, super short hair cuts should be avoided because they will make the face look even longer, try a chin length bob style instead.

Overall some of the really short boy cuts and more drastic chiseled short haircuts are very daring and not appealing to most women. Also, femininity in general is greatly tied into long flowing hair, while many still associate short hair as more male, boyish and tomboy. I admire those women who have the confidence and boldness to chop it all off, I am not one of those women. Are you?

Short hair cut: The trend of this era

If you want to look confident and outgoing this summer then nothing can be better than short haircut. A cute short haircut has an assertive, confident glamorous and intelligent style statement. Many Hollywood and Bollywood stars are preferring this short hairdo these days. For instance Meg Ryan's and Sharone Stone's tousled short haircuts and Keira Knightly's gothic bangs style are very popular. And this proves that modern days' women are liking short haircut with a variations. The variation is partly art and partly technical and it basically depends upon the hair stylist.
If you are brave enough to give up your gorgeous long looks and want to look yourself dramatically different from now, then be brave and do a hairdo that is short but not devoid of being feminine. Short hairstyle gives you a chic, elegant, sexy, sophisticated new look.

But you have to remember that too much difference and change is proportionate to too much maintenance to have your hair look good and beautiful. You can make difference by coloring up your hair or by straightening up your locks or introducing slight curls in it. But the bottom line is after care and maintenance if you want people running out of words as they praise your hairstyle. Choose the right color and style for your new short haircut. A short hair needs right styling and color or else it will not be looking good.

The short hair color looks very sexy and the outdated notion of not being so has long been crushed. And it is true that a short hairstyle reflects a lot of personality. The belief that short hair is devoid of feminine quality is no longer existent. A well-cut short hair emphasizes feminine quality especially if you get chunky layers and softness cut into the style. This looks gorgeous and gives up a great style statement.

Besides these, when you cut your hair short and have a proper styling in that manner, your hair looks thicker and glossier. Shorter hair looks much better and hotter than the dull, damaged ends of longer hair. It is a good choice for women with fine or thin hair. Women having thin hair would face a lot of problem managing their hair if they have long hair cut. But with a short haircut they can manage it more easily and can be much more confident about their hairstyle. They can easily hide their thin or fine hair if they have their hair cut in the proper way. No doubt that short hair is much easy to manage, you can just step into it and go.

It is known to all that wrinkles are more emphasized by the straight lines of long hair, but the softer shape of short hair makes them less obvious. And this is the reason why you look so younger in your short hairstyle. The short hairstyle that suits you and your lifestyle can dramatically change the way you feel and look. Not only that you look younger but also can boost your confidence along with saving a lot of time and money you spend on hair care.

Short Hair - Sexy or Butch?

Is short hair sexy or butch? It clearly depends on whose hair we are talking about, if you are talking Rosie O'Donnell then clearly, butch with a capital B. Halle Berry on the other hand could not be sexier with short hair. There is just something about a woman who is bold and confident enough to cut her hair short.

The first thing I think of when I see a woman with a short sassy hair cut is this woman is adventurous and knows who she is. She has a lot of self-confident and is not afraid to do her own thing, which in it's self is very sexy.

Short cuts usually look better on woman with slimmer faces, although I have seen woman with fuller faces pull off the short cut, there is just something about a woman with a slimmer face and a short cut. Maybe it is the way the cheek bones are highlighted, a short cut tends to caresses and brings out the eyes.

The meaning behind a woman cutting her hair short could be she might just want a change maybe she is shedding her old self and is getting ready to move on into a different stage of life. It could be that she just unloaded some deadbeat guy and is looking for a 180-degree change to the way she was with him what ever the reason it certain seems like some sort of liberation.

Some gay women I've known have cut their hair when they came out of the closet, again it was librating to them, they felt free like they could be who they really are. Short hair to me is just sexy, if conveys a sense of strength and I do not mean it in a masculine way, I mean strong, sultry, and sexy.

I remember years ago when Demi Moore had short hair I thought that was the best that she ever looked. She is one of those women who looks great with long or short hair very few woman I've seen have been able to pull that off. I've also noticed that a lot of mature women are starting to cut there hair, which I also find sexy women like Helen Mirren who are clearly beyond the pixie years are cutting their hair into shorter sexier styles.

Look Great With Hair Designs for Short Hair

Many women consider their hair to be their crowning glory, and many women still carry the idea that to be a ‘woman’ you must have long flowing hair. Well times certainly have changed, and more and more women are realizing the beauty of shorter cuts and the manageability of them too. Women today are always on the go and with time constraints peering over their shoulders the last thing they need is a bad hair day or spending thirty minutes every morning trying to look presentable. And that is exactly why short cut hair continues to increase in popularity.

Now don’t think that short hair means having no hair at all. Actually it is quite the opposite, especially for women with fine or thinning hair as shorter cuts can make hair look fuller and healthier. But whatever your reason for going short, the fact is that you have numerous options to choose from! But before choosing a short hairstyle for yourself, find out what your facial shape is and look at various short cuts on people with a similar shape of face as yours. So here are some of the more popular hair designs for short hair.

The Gamine Cut; a gamine crop cut looks youthful with feathery layers directed forward onto the forehead. A short layered boyish short crop with a tapered nape is very adorable and a perfect way to wear straight hair. And don’t underestimate the use of color and highlights that can really give a gamine crop cut an exquisite touch of intense class.

The Angled Bob; if you really want to make a statement, an angled bob with a shorn elevated nape is the perfect look. This buzzed nape look will certainly get you noticed! You can of course also opt for a sweet classic hairstyle and enhance it with contrasting colors. A face framing short bob with bangs can be very flattering and sexy.

The Daring Pixie Cut; when you are ready for an ultra short hair cut, then a pixie style might be just what you need. Wear it spiked or get some length through the top for a ruffled look. Add styling gel for a stunningly, bold look.

The Tapered Bob; a tapered bob with short bangs and fringy layers can be very charming. Light layering at the ends gives the hair extra swing. A couple of shorter pieces of hair around the face and a slightly angled neckline will make a bob hairstyle sophisticated.

No matter what type of short hair design you decide to go with, just remember that short hair can be chic and sexy once you have the confidence to pull off the short cut. And don’t forget that jewelry, make-up and other accessories can add more life to any short design.

Long Hair to Short Hair Transition For Women

Short hairstyles for women have always been around. Short hair styles are not a new concept, however, for women who have had long hair for their entire life they may as well be.

The one change that ladies, and men for that matter have a difficult time with is the long hair to short hair transition. This can be very daunting for most, and should not be taken lightly.

I believe strongly that this is one of those times were the hairdresser's ability to give a professional consultation is very important. A hairdresser has the responsibility of giving the best advice to a client regardless of whether they agree or not. Sometimes what the client thinks is the right style for them and what actually is, are two different things.

You noticed I said the right style for them and not the best looking style for them. The reason is that although a style may be better suited as far as looks go to a person it is not always the most practical. We need to consider if the style is high maintenance or low maintenance and can the client manage the style themselves or will they need to visit a Salon every time they want to create the style.

Ladies, if you have had long hair for ever and you have now made the decision to cut it off tread carefully. Do not just go from long to short straight away. You've waited this long, whats the hurry.

There are so many stages before you get used to a new style the first one is the grieving process, the more you cut off the more you grieve. Then you have the shock factor the bigger the chop the bigger the shock so little steps are easier steps and then you have the what do I do with it now its so short.

Do not forget everything you have at home is for long hair your brushes your products electrical devices, all for long.

So the conclusion is less is best depending on how much you are actually cutting off do it in stages at least one if not more. It will give you time to get adjusted and everyone else around you adjusted to your new look.

It will also give your stylist time to adjust to see what you look like with shorter hair to see what you can handle and work out what your growth patterns are. It will also allow time for you to grieve, to get over the shock, to get organized with brushes electrical devices and products.

The most important step however is, talk to your stylist. If you do not have a good stylist who takes time out to consult on each and every visit the find another one. Walk in to a few Salons and ask a senior stylist for their opinion, then compare notes.

Short Hair Styles - The Latest Trend

Short hair styles are all the rage this season, perhaps because the current fashion trends also include girls getting in touch their their masculine sides. Hair trends often mimic those found in fashion and this one is no exception. Of course, that is not the only reason short styles are so popular right now.

There are a number of reasons women and men alike are going for shorter hair. Some of them are driven by fashion and some of them are practical. The point is that although long locks will always be pretty, they are definitely being replaced by a love for shorter styles.

Right now, the looks on the runways are all about femme fatales doing it up in an androgynous way. Women are encouraged to wear fitted trousers, pinstriped suits, skinny ties, and classy fedoras. This hot new fashion trend is directly related to the current trends found in hair styles. Namely, women are beginning to prefer much shorter hair.

It does not necessarily have to be a short cropped pixie cut, but with celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes being frequently photographed with sleek, jaw length bobs, it is really no wonder why so many women are running to book an appointment under the scissors.

On the subject of short, cropped hairstyles, however, women have been wild about them for many years. Sometimes, however, a woman is not brave enough to get her hair cut this way. It can be difficult to pull off a look like this, but it looks exquisite when it can be done.

In the past, iconic women like Audrey Hepburn, whose short pixie cut in Sabrina took the audience's breath away, and Mia Farrow during her dramatic turn in Rosemary's Baby, sent women all over the world to the stylist's. These dramatic looks began a trend which is still popular today. It simply happens to be making a comeback in a big way.

As briefly mentioned, getting one's hair cut short has its practical side as well. It is notoriously easy to style a short hair cut, whether it is chin length, jaw length, or cropped close to the skull. More often than not, all you need to do is towel dry a look like this, add the tiniest bit of product, and you can be on your way.

This is possibly why short hair is so popular with working women, mothers, and especially, working moms. In the rush to get breakfast on the table, get lunches packed, get the kids off to school, and get yourself ready, you sometimes do not even have time to match your socks, let alone style your hair to perfection.

Having a short hair style can thus save quite a bit of time. And, like say, when you have the bone structure which can pull it off, then you are still going to turn heads every time you walk down the street.

By virtue of the fact that it is both stylish and convenient, short hair is quickly becoming the new black, so to speak.

Short Hair Styles - 3 Keys to Avoiding a Big Mistake

Short hair styles are wonderful for ease of maintenance and versatility. Many girls and women go with shorter length hair in the summer, but it's really a good year-round length. You don't need expensive gels, shampoo, sprays, or equipment like curling irons with short hair. If you're a busy person, it's wonderful to have a style you can wash, dry, and be out the door every morning in half the time of those with longer cuts.

As easy, comfortable, and fun as short hair can be, there are some potential pitfalls if you aren't careful, especially if you've never had your hair cut short before. Knowledge is power, though, and so here are three things to avoid when considering a short hair cut style.

First, don't go super-short right out of the gate. Even if you really dig that buzz cut on your favorite celebrity, you might discover it looks less-than-flattering on you. A good rule is to get your hair cut a medium length first. If everything looks fine, go ahead and have your stylist cut some more. You can always go shorter, but the only option when too short is a mistake is letting it grow out and dealing with the embarrassment for a few weeks. No one needs that hassle.

Second, remember that bangs are a great cover for facial features you don't want to emphasize. If you think your nose is too big or your eyes are too close together, for example, bangs will smooth things out. That's why you see a lot of women going with the bob hair style with bangs. It's a good, safe option for most face shapes and facial features.

Finally, tap your friends for their opinions before you sit down in the chair at the salon. Your best friends are going to be your best sources for blunt advice. A true friend will tell it to you straight. So, ask your friends what they think about you getting a short haircut. If the majority give it a thumbs up, go for it! If not, it's probably a good sign to keep a longer hairstyle. Also, get your stylist's advice as well. He or she has probably been cutting hair for a long time. A good one will help you with plenty of style options - probably even some you never thought of or knew existed.
